Why do we need your help?

Over the past 15 years, most of the funding for the WETMAAP Program has come from a group of government sources. In 2010, after years of growth, these sources cover 90% of our budget. In planning for the future sustainability of WETMAAP we know that we must diversify our funding sources and prepare for tightening federal budgets that will reduce or eliminate funding of our program. As many of the WETMAAP participants have asked over the years, we also are interested in and planning on enhancing and expanding the program to provide imagery as a resource for a variety of needs and requirements.

Since 1996 the program has provided over 160 training sessions with a total of 3,400 participants. Each day the WETMAAP website is visited by ?? from around the world.

If, over the past 15 years, WETMAAP has helped you or a friend with materials and content for use in your classroom, personal professional development, ideas for teaching, connect with a person, an idea , or a resource, or just feel inspired for a moment—we need your help.

Our Objectives

1. continue to provide a steady funding stream in a potentially declining budgetary environment within the government;
2. enhance and expand the envisioned program over the next two to three years and diversify the programs funding streams.

We believe we can accomplish these objectives by reaching a funding goal of $150,000 per year for the next three years from donations.

Our long-term plan We are looking at a wide variety of options to diversify our income streams. At the same time, we are building an "infrastructure" or "intermediary" organization that will provide us with a minimum of three years of secure funding that will allow the WETMAAP Program to be self-sustaining into the future. If we can meet this goal– with the public support – we will be able to provide a broader and richer service to the community. The development of the more diverse funding model will take a several years; and your donations will assist the program in expanding service while we continue to provide the high-quality services you are accustomed to.

WETMAAP is a moderately sized program that has several complicated parts: a website, materials and site development, and hands-on training—all of which are expensive to develop and maintain. (We design, program, and maintain the website; we develop site information and materials and facilitate training sessions/workshops.)

• Maintain the current WETMAAP.org website, hand-on training, and materials development
• Presentations at national, regional, and local meetings
• Exhibit at several national and regional meetings each year
• Reply to every call and email request received.
• Organize, promote, and staff all the activities previously mentioned, including continuing to provide the Train-the-Trainer program.
• Continue to develop new sites with content materials added to the website.
• Write and publish new resources to benefit our members.
